Come back.

SwimTech is the first swimsuit with an integrated airbag. Discreet every day, vital when it counts.

The reality

45 people drown every year in Switzerland. 300,000 worldwide.

According to the Swiss Life-Saving Society:

Most drownings occur in lakes and rivers, often due to sudden exhaustion or an unexpected health episode. Not carelessness. A lack of adequate protection.

It's not only beginner swimmers.

Many are regular practitioners. Drowning can occur within minutes, sometimes without any warning signs.

In an emergency, the first minutes are decisive.

Staying afloat long enough to be rescued can make all the difference. That is precisely what a flotation device provides.

Safety equipment exists.

But no swimmer actually swims with a life jacket. Because none of them were designed for real swimming.

The best protection is the one you're wearing.

Not the one you leave at the water's edge.

The alternative

What already exists, and why it's not enough.

Safety solutions exist. But none of them were designed for the swimmer in motion.

The life jacket

Effective when stationary. But impossible to swim in. Its bulk and rigidity turn every stroke into a struggle. In practice, it stays on the shore.

The swim buoy

Visible and useful as a signal. But it creates drag in the water and does not activate in an emergency. It's a visibility tool, not an emergency flotation device.

The flotation belt

More discreet than the jacket. But uncomfortable over time, and poorly suited to swimming movements. Most swimmers abandon it after a few outings.

None of these solutions allowed swimmers to move freely while staying protected.

So we started from scratch.

Open water swimming is a choice of freedom.

But that freedom has long come at a price.

What was missing was a protection you actually wear. Discreet during a swim. Vital when it counts.

Innovation

The SwimTech solution

SwimTech is the first swimsuit to integrate an airbag system. In difficulty, a simple press on the lever inflates it within seconds, keeping you in a stable position with your head above water. Without activation, it performs like any high-performance swimsuit.

Invisible every day

As light and flexible as a competition swimsuit. Woven in high-performance polyamide. The protection is built in, you won't feel it.

Simple activation

A firm press on the side lever. The suit inflates in under 30 seconds and holds you in a stable position, head above water.

Inflates in under 10 seconds

< 10 seconds from the lever to the surface.

~50 N buoyancy

Enough to keep an adult afloat.

Field tested

Prototype V4.0 validated in pool and open water.

Swiss Made

Designed, tested and manufactured in Switzerland.

Interchangeable cartridge

Single use. Replacement packs available separately. Swapped in seconds, no tools required.

Three actions. One protection.

How to use it

When the need arises, you’re ready. Three simple steps. Complete protection.

01

Activation

In difficulty, grip the side lever and press firmly. The system activates instantly. No complex steps, no additional equipment. A single action, designed to work even under stress.

02

Float

The suit inflates in under 30 seconds, keeping you in a stable position with your head above water. You remain visible at the surface and can catch your breath while waiting for rescue or making your way back to shore. That window of time makes all the difference.

03

Reset

Once safe, press the cartridge button to deflate the suit. The used cartridge detaches and is replaced in seconds with a new one. Your suit is ready for the next outing.

Engineering

Reliable for skiers and cyclists. Designed for swimmers.

SwimTech’s airbag system was developed in collaboration with AQ-Tech, an engineering firm specialising in the application of airbag technology to outdoor sports. Their expertise already spans avalanche airbags for skiing and protective vests for cycling, areas where reliability is non-negotiable.

When applied to swimming, this technology has been adapted, tested and validated on several prototypes, both in swimming pools and in open water.

We haven’t reinvented safety; we’ve reimagined it. The same engineering principles, applied to the unique physics of open water.

The result: a simple, robust mechanism, designed to activate when you need it, and only then.

Support the project

You've seen the problem. You've discovered the solution. All that's missing is you.

SwimTech is currently in its crowdfunding phase on Wemakeit. Your support allows us to produce the first series, broaden testing and launch the product on the Swiss market. Every contribution counts and early supporters will receive the suit first.

The story

Born of an absence

In 2022, on holiday in Greece, a close friend went out for his morning swim in the sea, as he did every day. That day, he did not come back.

That moment changed everything. It made one thing clear: safety in the water should never be optional. It must be invisible, natural, uncompromising.

Protection must be part of the swimsuit. SwimTech was born from that conviction.

The team

Four founders, one shared conviction.

SwimTech was born from the meeting of three entrepreneurs with complementary skills: management, design and legal engineering. United by the same conviction: that open water safety deserves a solution worthy of those who practise it.

There are no available cars matching the current filters.

What they tell us

First reactions.

Swimmers, industry experts, industrial partners. Here is what they said after discovering SwimTech.

FAQ

The questions you're asking.

You have doubts? That's normal. SwimTech is a new product, and we prefer transparency over simplicity. Here are answers to the most common questions.

Yes. Without activation, the SwimTech suit is as light and flexible as a competition swimsuit. The integrated airbag causes no discomfort during swimming, it is designed to go unnoticed.

No. The system is entirely manual: it only activates when you firmly press the side lever. No water contact, no involuntary movement can trigger it.

Inflation is near-instant. Within 30 seconds of activation, the suit is fully inflated and holds you in a stable position, head above water.

Yes. Once safe, press the cartridge button to deflate the suit. The used cartridge detaches and is replaced in seconds by a new one, available separately in replacement packs.

SwimTech is designed for lake, river and sea swimming. It suits both short outings and long-distance swims. It is not recommended for diving or high-speed water sports.

SwimTech is for all open water swimmers — from regular practitioners who want to swim with greater peace of mind, to those who prefer extra precaution. Currently available in men's and boys' versions. The women's version is in development.
